When we meet the client during the initial brief stage, the client told us about their intention to open a Yemeni food restaurant, serving dishes such as Mandi, Biryani, and other Yemeni specialties. They asked us to suggest a brand name and full visual branding for the restaurant.
LASHEEN thought extensively about the name until we came up with an attempt to capture the essence of the Yemeni food category. For example, Chinese food is referred to as “Chinese food,” and Mexican food is called “Mexican food.” So, we decided to propose “Yemenese” as a symbol for Yemeni cuisine and as the one that represents the Yemeni food category. Therefore, if a group of friends or family members wants to eat Yemeni food, they would say, “Let’s go to Yemenese.” The client was very pleased with this idea.
During the briefing, the client explained that the restaurant would have Arab-style seating in a spacious open area, with some tents to simulate the famous desert regions known for Mandi. This concept aims to convey this atmosphere to the customers. Hence, the idea for the logo was to resemble a traditional Bedouin tent, with suggested warm colors.
To promote the restaurant’s most famous dishes and signature items, we chose the slogan “Yamanise: The Origin of Mandi and Hanith.” “اصل المندي والحنيز”
